第4回東アジア合同獣医学会が、2024年9月8日～9日の両日にわたり帯広畜産大学で開催され、250名を超える参加者が集った。
東アジア合同獣医学会は、東アジアの獣医学発展と獣医学研究者の交流の推進を目的に日本獣医学会(JSVS)、韓国獣医学会(KSVS)、中国(台湾)獣医学会(CSVS)の3学会が合同で開催する国際学術集会。研究者の交流のみでなく、大学院生や若手研究者に国際学会での発表の場を提供することを通じての人材育成も大きな目的となっている。
1回目の韓国・ソウル大学(2018年5月)、2回目の韓国・建国大学(2019年4月)、3回目の台湾・屏東科技大学(2023年5月)に次ぐ4回目の今回、初めて日本開催となった。
第4回東アジア合同獣医学会は「東アジアにおける越境性家畜感染症の予防と制御」のテーマで行われ、学術集会長・実行委員長は、日本獣医学会理事長の猪熊 壽先生(東京大学)が務めた。
シンポジウムのほか、若手研究者等による一般講演が行われた。一般講演は34題の口頭発表と92題のポスター発表が行われ、審査の結果、口頭発表賞4件、ポスター発表賞8件が選ばれ、表彰された。表彰者と演題は以下の通り(敬称略)。
